If there were ever a book on the market today that would expand your sewing creativeness this would be the book to pick up. Alexia Marcelle Abegg offers a variety of projects to choose from such as quilts, accessories, and clothing in her newly released book Liberty Love.

The Guild, the Girl Scouts, & a Pillowcase Challenge

Hi everyone!

I am just writing a short post today cause the flu bug is visiting and making its rounds in our house. 

I wanted to touch base on something successful and I believe my guild ladies had more fun with this than the girls (nah, it was equally the same, they both had fun with this). 

Oh, sorry what is "this"? 

My guild and my daughter's Girl Scout Troop teamed up to do the 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge from American Patchwork Magazine last night.

It was a good night and you can read more about it *here* if ya like.

Oh, I should probably get the bad parent award for my daughter missing half a day of school (flu bug) yesterday and then allowing her to attend the meeting, and missing a whole day of school today. If it were under any other circumstance that would have been the situation of my daughter not attending this meeting at all. I allowed it because I was in charge and it took a lot to get this meeting to happen.

In the end I am thrilled with the success and hope that this could be pulled off again.

On the one exception that everyone is feeling better!

Isn't a beautiful thing when something you aim to achieve happens!
I can tell ya this much that I am thrill and tickled to pieces that my quilting is turning out this way!
Oddly it did not start out this way though.

Book Review: In the Studio with Angela Walters

This is Angela's second book and it does exceed the first book by continuing on with more down to earth how to and tips to accomplish the quilting Angela does for her customers. What does separate this book from the last is that it views the quilting as another art form and Angela has designed 10 quilts for you to make to take your quilting to the next level.

I have to stop case I had to watch my 15 year old stepson while my husband worked overtime this weekend.

What Ya Do-in?

Doodling quilting designs and blogging is what I am up to. I tried quilting my quilt earlier today and could not concentrate on it. I just thought that it would be best to stop for the day until all the chaos is done over here. In the mean time I took the time to look to see if anyone was hosting a Pantone color of the year challenge and yes, some one is.

Goal Setting...Are You a Goal Setter?

I received an email over a week ago from a gal named Allison from OnlineEducation.net. Allison had spotted my post on goal setting that I wrote back in April 2012, and she asked if she could use what I had wrote for data purposes. Now I have gotten some inquiries in the past of folks asking if they can use some of my works for an article that they are writing, and to tell ya the truth I have to turn many of them down cause I could not see what I had written was relevant to what they were writing about. With Allison's article its a home run with what I have written. Matter of fact you can read the entire article  *here!*  Now with this article there is this factual graph that goes along with it about goal setting and how only a few people actually retain their goals, especially for the new year.
