Sunday Catch Up or Sound Off

Book Loft Entrance

This lovely path way is to the entrance of the Book Loft in German Village.
This little unique book store happens to be a family favorite

First off we were not home today.
Which I am sure you probably guessed.
We were in Columbus instead.

Hubby was told of this great and wonderful motorcycle shop on the East side of Columbus called the Iron Pony.
He has been aching to go there ever since.

And I said let's wait until next month so I can raid the quilt shops down there!

But my husband could not wait any longer.

I said that I would go if he would agree to go to the Book Loft too!

The book loft is a pretty cool book store that happens to be a maze.
But we are so used to it we know what books we are looking for and where they are located.

I wanted to go because my daughter has been wanting to go to.
Considering since she is the avid reader and she was going to be stuck on another car ride, I thought that I would suggest this for her sake than mine.

However, I did get a chance to check out some quilting books too!
I finally got to flip through "We Love Color: 16 Iconic Quilt Designers Create with Kona Solids" by Suzanne Woods and "Modern Patchwork" by Elizabeth Hartman.

So excited about that because both books are on my Amazon wish list!

This door below is one of the doors at Starbucks there in German Village.
I thought it was cool cause of the door knocker

Lion Door Knocker 1

Even the Starbucks birds were overly friendly.
They had no fear of any humans around.
Plus they were great entertainment while we sat outside, drank our coffee, and enjoyed the fresh air.

Oh, if any one can tell me what kind of bird this is, that would be great!

On the way home we stopped at Cracker Barrel to eat dinner
This little brain teaser is on every table at the restaurant.
I taught my daughter how to play it.
The object of the game is to have one peg remaining in the triangle.

How Smart are you Game

As we were leaving the restaurant my daughter spotted these mustache (I call them suckers) lollipops.
Thought it would be cool to get a picture of them to show them off to everyone in the quilting world since they seem like a big popular thing over at Fat Quarterly.

Must Stash

As for this weeks sound off or catch up:
  • Started on the second Carnival quilt. It will be three different colors but none are the same shade like the last Carnival quilt.
  • Had to put Carnival quilt on hold cause I had to bring my daughter home.
  • Started a EPP project while on the way to picking up my daughter.
  • Went to a cute quilt shop but all ready blew my quilting budget for the month.
  • Daughter started Cross Country and ran two miles. Proud of her for doing that because... A:  This was her first time ever running two miles and B: We are not a family of runners. Yet, alone a  family that runs two miles! It just does not happen.
  • Oh, still in debate of making this an every Sunday thing and making it a link up party too!
At this moment I can not think of anything else that happened this past week.

But don't forget the Let's Get Acquainted Blog Hop Tour

Please stop by to say HI! to last weeks participants:

Jenelle from Echinops & Aster
Rebecca from Sew Festive
Marti from 52 Quilts

Sounds like a great, relaxing day away. The little bird is a common house sparrow. You see them everywhere.
